  • Task 1: Eat a rainbow

As mentioned before, nutrition plays such a massive part in our wellbeing, not only physically but mentally too. What we eat has an impact on how we feel.

So a quick way to make sure you are eating a variety of foods and a good balance of nutrients is to eat a rainbow.

I would like you to have every colour of the rainbow (as much as you possibly can) on your plate please (emptying a packet of skittles on a plate doesn't count I’m afraid!)

Task 2: Do something for someone else

Despite what our instincts sometimes tell us, when we are feeling at our wits end and pretty low, helping someone else has actually proven to make you feel happier. It doesn't have to be anything major, maybe it is just phoning someone to check in on them, sending someone a letter or card just to say hi, helping your child organise their lego people, doing your neighbour's shopping, making your partner a cup of tea etc.

I know all you busy parents out there are probably thinking “I do everything for everyone else all the time anyway!” I get ya, I know how you feel. However many of those things are done because we have no choice so this task is different because I would like you to consciously do something for someone else (maybe choosing someone other than your children would make it a bit easier too).

Share what you did in the chat. Let us know what kind keed you did and how it made you feel.
